Daniel Yeboah Ansong

He is an experienced Marketing Communications Consultant with close to 25 years practice in the sector. Born in May 1962, Daniel has worked in three renowned Advertising Agencies since 1989 and has had the opportunity to work on the accounts of blue-chip companies including Nestle Ghana Ltd., Unilever Ghana Ltd and the Coca-Cola Company.

Daniel started his career in 1989 with Apple Pie Publicity Ltd as Account Executive in charge of KLM Royal Dutch Airline. In 1991, he was part of a team of professionals who put in a bid and won the first ever Mass Communications campaign on HIV/AIDS for the Ministry of Health, Ghana with sponsorship from AIDSTEC and USAID, and technical direction by John Hopkins University, USA. Daniel worked on this account as a Project Manager for two years.

He joined STB-McCann, an affiliate of McCann-Erickson World group in 1993 as a Client Service Manager in charge of Nestle Ghana Limited (Ideal Milk and Nescafe). He was part of the project team that organized the biggest promotion at the time, the “Ideal House Raffle” with a 3-bedroom house as the ultimate prize. In 1996, he was sent to the Unilever Account as the Account Group Head, and worked with the Unilever Brands team on many product launch and re-launch within the Personal Products, Industrial & Institutional Detergents and Foods categories.

Daniel left the Unilever Account Group in 2003 as the Deputy Account Director, and headed the Agency’s Coca-Cola team as the Account Director in charge of Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta and Dasani Mineral Water (now BonAqua). At Coca-Cola, Daniel continued his streak of successes and was an integral part of the Coca-Cola Project Teams that championed many big projects, including the Coca-Cola Top-4 Football Tournament, Coca-Cola BMW Promotion, Coca-Cola FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour, Global PAC Conference in Ghana and several brands launches.

In 2005 when the Agency won the Onetouch Mobile Telephony (now Vodafone) Account, Daniel was once again called upon to head the Account Management team as the Account Director. With the brands team, many projects, break-through communications and spot-on activations were accomplished. He also supervised the USA Rice Federation, an offshore account for the Agency.

Daniel left STB-McCann in 2009 as an Associate Director and head of the Client Service Department, and has now teamed up with other partners to form Zesty Knowledge (ZK) Advertising Ghana Limited. He is the Managing Partner and Executive Director in charge of Operations and Projects. His company consults for United States Department of Agriculture in Ghana on U.S. Commodity Groups marketing. He is also the Ghanaian Board member of the American Soybean Association and World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH). He also lectures part-time at the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG)’s Professional Intermediate Course program.

Daniel has benefited from extensive training programs and short courses, which include Creative Brand Communication (1998 – Lagos, Nigeria), Unilever Advanced Brand Communications (1999 – Johannesburg, South Africa), Integrated Brand Communications (2001 – Provence, France) and Brand Communications Leadership (2002 – Durban, South Africa).
Daniel holds an MBA (Marketing) from the University of Leicester, UK, a Graduate Diploma in Management and a Degree in Communication Studies.
